Top DVD Movie Releases For May 1, 2007
It’s a dreamy week for DVD shoppers. Here are the top three DVD movie releases for this week and reviews of them from the Epinions.com community.
Happily N’Ever After
The computer generated animated film is based on the fairy tales of the Brothers Grimm. Released in the first week of January this year, the film stars the voices of Freddie Prinze, Jr. and Sarah Michelle Gellar as well as the voice of George Carlin as the Wizard. It is released in full and wide screen in addition to blu-ray.

Dreamgirls
The Bill Condon helmed film based on the Broadway musical of the same name about a fictional girls singing group modeled after Diana Ross’s Supremes features a star studded cast including Beyonce, Eddie Murphy, Jamie Foxx, and American Idol contestant Jennifer Hudson. Hudson’s role as Effie White netted her the Oscar for Best New Actress. The movie arrives on DVD in a regular edition as well as a “Two-Disc Showstopper” edition. The latter features a documentary about the making of the film and actor screen tests.

Alpha Dog
The movie follows the true story of drug dealer Jesse James Hollywood played by Emile Hirsch. The Nick Cassavetes directed film also features Justin Timberlake, Sharon Stone, and Bruce Willis. It was released early in 2007 and earned just over $15 million domestically in box office dollars.
