Think Pink
As many of you already know, October is National Breast Cancer Awareness Month. As someone who has close personal ties to several breast cancer survivors, I hold the cause very near and dear to my heart.
According to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation, an estimated 178,480 of American women will be diagnosed with breast cancer in 2007 alone and an estimated 40,460 women will die from breast cancer in the U.S. in 2007. That is far too many.
I urge you to do your part to help support the fight against breast cancer, not just in October, but year-round. If you love the color pink, you can shop for pink accessories and apparel on The Breast Cancer Site’s Store. A percentage of your purchases will help fund mammograms for women in need through the site’s charity partners.
Additionally, Shopping.com’s consumer reviews site, Epinions.com, is also stepping in to support the cause. Epinions will donate $1 to the fight against breast cancer for every entry in its October First Review Write Off. Details here.
