Superbad
One of the biggest box office surprises of the year, this Greg Mottola directed film features two teenagers who feel the need to conquer a specific goal before they go away to college. Their goal has to do with the ladies, and these two aren’t exactly swift with the ladies.
The Nanny Diaries
This film is based on the 2002 novel, The Nanny Diaries, by Emma McLaughlin and Nicola Kraus. Starring Scarlett Johansson stars as a woman who takes a job as a nanny to get away from the possibility of having to work in the business world. Her nanny position puts her in some odd positions with a very rich family, including caring for their 5 year old and catering to Mrs. X. The film also stars Alicia Keys, Paul Giamatti and Laura Linney.

Keri Russell (remember her from Felicity?) stars as a waitress who is trying to save enough money to get out of dodge and away from her husband.
Lindsay Lohan’s latest release was a failure at the box office, but that’s the video is for. She plays Aubrey, who is abducted, is found, but as a different person.
John Travolta plays the mother (yes, the mother, not the father) of a girl with huge hair and similarly big dreams. Tracy Turnblad (Nikki Blonsky) dreams of being in the dance show, “The Corny Collins Show”. The movie stars Michelle Pfeiffer, Queen Latifah, Christopher Walken, Zac Effron, and Brittney Snow. It was adapted from the 2002 musical of the same name, which too was adapted from the 1998 John Waters film.
It’s the third film in the Shrek series, and this time, Shrek has to find the rightful heir to the throne in the land of Far, Far Away. The regulars are back including Mike Myers, Cameron Diaz, Eddie Murphy, and Antonio Banderas, and Justin Timberlake joins them for this one.
Kevin James and Adam Sandler are best buddies who have to pose as domestic partners. Jessica Biel also stars in the Dennis Duggan directed comedy.
Michael Moore’s latest documentary is about the American health care system and how, in his research, it’s not as much about the health care, as it is about the benjamins.
Mandy Moore and Robin Williams star in this PG-13 rated comedy slash romance film. The story surrounds a newly engaged couple who have to pass the Reverend’s marriage test in order to get married.
Kevin Costner starts as a man living a double life. On one hand, he’s a loving family man, and on the other, he’s a serial killer so secretive and clever, that no one has figured him out. Directed by Bruce A. Evans, and also starring Demi Moore, William Hurt, and Dane Cook, this suspense picture grossed just under $30 million at the box office.
