This week we found seasonal fashion trends and tips that will come in handy when planning your fall wardrobe:

cole-haan-tall-boots.jpggrey-leopard-print-shirt.jpgturquoise-cuff.jpgcoat.jpg
Splendora spotlights Cole Haan Tall Kenna Boots to jump start the fall season. The luggage brown goes with everything, and the relaxed, sexy style works perfectly with your favorite jeans or skirt.

Constance White, eBay’s Style Director informs us that black is back as it’s uniform for any occasion this summer…a wedding, dinner al fresco, or a Sunday concert at the beach. Throw on some black skinny jeans, a black tank top, and a pair of black Ray Bans and you’re the “it” girl straight from the pages of InStyle! Of course, you can always have your black in a summer dress too.

SheFinds alerts readers about grey as a staple color this fall and the best way to wear it. Her tip is to find a key grey piece, be it high-waisted trousers to elongate your legs or a pencil skirt to accentuate your waist, have it tailored to perfection, and voila! You have found a way to incorporate almost all the latest trends using just one key piece. Pair your pencil skirt with a leopard print chiffon neck tie top or with a metallic mini jacket and black Mary Janes.

Jewelry Blogger Sandy Graham raves about turquoise as a fall jewelry trend and showcases her latest find — a vintage turquoise and coral beaded Native American cuff. Turquoise is always present and can be worn with jeans and a white cuffed shirt, a pale gray dress, a multi color long print caftan and many other things.

The Budget Fashionista recommends the Old Navy Baby Doll coat as a “What to buy” item for the fall. You can find it in green or black for more versatility.

Also, Regina Lewis touted comparison shopping sites on the Today Show. She said that price comparison sites give you a great initial snapshot of what the product is currently going for online. And she cites a new five-year forecast from Forrester Research that indicates people who are the biggest online spenders are also the most likely to comparison shop.

Now that’s shopping smart!

This week we found shoes, shoes and more shoes to drool over:weitzmans-advice.pngsteve-maddens.jpgweitzman-oval-metallics.jpgpeep-toes.jpg

The Wall Street Journal reporter Christina Binkley pens about the power of the stiletto. She says that if you look under many a powerful woman’s desk you’ll find a serious pair of heels…and she’s right. Power heel shoe designer Stuart Weitzman states “High heels indicate power.” Nobody ever said it would be easy – or comfortable – to be powerful and stylish, but we all know what a well-placed heel is capable of.

Splendora raves about Steve Madden Cabanna as the new official office shoes. These wood-heeled shoes give you a lot of extra inches plus the interior padding makes them relatively comfortable.

SheFinds shares how to sizzle in fabulous new shoes from Payless. Designer Lela Rose has signed up to design for Payless, following a trend started by Abaete, whose Fall 2007 line is already available. Two fabulous, guilt-free finds; The Flavin Platform, an adorable metallic sandal, and the Debra Wedge, a performance shoe that’s all business and will look great with the bold lines of fall suits.

FabSugar spotlights Stuart Weitzman’s Oval Metallic Flat Sandal, which can be dressed up or dressed down. These shoes are great if you prefer to wear flats that are fun for tooling around everyday, or having lunch with the girls.

StyleHive
bubbles about Seychelles D’Orsay Pump, a sassy peep-toe pump, punched up with color. The bright yellow adds a gorgeous unexpected pop to neutral pieces. If you’re feeling a little less adventurous, take the classic route with black or go mod with shiny white. The effortless style goes with everything from tailored pencil skirts to wide leg trousers.

This week blogs are all about pampering yourself. For those who aren’t jetting off on vacation, relax by having a spa day without having to leave your house (and you’ll save money too!).

nails.pngslippers.jpgbath-lights-master.jpgice-cream.jpgStylehive touts Avon’s Dry Enamel Stickers when grooming your nails to score flawless nails in a flash: base coat, color and top coat all at once! This is great for fidgety girls who can’t seem to stop smudging their nails.

SheFinds highlights the Foot Petals Spalux Slippers to wear after a long day of wearing toe-pinching heels or callus-causing flats. Slip a foot in and feel the soft, comforting, silky feel of the plush chenille fabric. These also make great gifts for your female friends and family!

TheMakeupGirl showcases Philosophy’s Micro-Delivery Peel Pads that you can use on your face, neck and body. Put your best face forward by getting soft and glowing skin. The active ingredient is lactic acid so you will not get any redness if you have sensitive skin.

Shiny Shiny lights up about Aqua Lumi LEDs. The best part of a spa day at home is taking that nice, long bath and what a better way to do it then with bath lights that float on top of your water, creating a relaxing (or romantic…if that’s what you’re going for) setting.

Splendora raves about LaLoo’s Goat’s Milk Ice Cream that is low-cal, low-fat, low lactose, growth-hormone-free and hand-made to be magically delicious. So sit back, relax after your nice spa day and dig into some ice cream that won’t make your waistband tighter.

prepsters.jpgbubble-skirts_shorty-shorts.jpghairspray_penny_pingleton.pngThis week we found blast from the past styles and electronics that have resurfaced as current trends:

Wall Street Journal writes about the return of preppy — club ties, Lilly Pulitzer, pants and belts embroidered with little whales or sailboats, Jack Rogers sandals. Preppy is back in full swing, but this time with a twist of loud pink and lime…for men.

Daily Candy calls out to shake what yo mamma gave you — especially when wearing shorty shorts and bubble skirts from Smart Fitzjerell. The debut collection also offers smart, ladylike day dresses that you can work well into the night. The latest and greatest preppy meets edgy.

Glam.com raves about New Line Cinema’s exclusive charity auction on eBay featuring costumes and props from the hit new movie, Hairspray. In addition to acquiring a snazzy ensemble and piece of movie history, you’ll be helping out a couple of worthy charities: City Meals on Wheels and the Harry Holmberg Memorial Fund. Hairspray dances its way into theaters today!

Splendora time-warps back to the good ol’ days of playing Pong on Atari and reminisces of how the times have changed. The Atari 800 in store demo will bring back old school memories of how cool pixilated video games and floppy disks used to be.

Geek Sugar nerds out over the “so 80s it hurts” MC-3 iPod Dock. Sure, you love an occasional Def Leopard or Cindi Lauper jam, but are you ready for the tube power amp, high-end Philips CD transport and Burr-Brown DA converter with shameless 80s style? It may be too legit to quit!

cocktail-ring-2.jpggold-clutch.jpgcocktail-ring.jpgplum-purse.jpgThis week we found amazing accessories to accent any outfit, whether fancy or casual. Glitzy, glamorous, oversized and purple have surfaced as accessory trends to be aware of this summer:

SheFinds seeks out the hottest new accessory and trend — drumroll please — the Cocktail Ring! It’s back, it’s beautiful and most of all it’s chic. These rings were first popularized in the ’40s and ’50s, but the oversize styling and glitz have made a comeback and the bigger, the better.

FabSugar raves about Devi Kroell’s Gold Clutch, for any fancy-schmancy party! Summer is full of soirees so finding one shouldn’t be a problem. The faux snakeskin on this clutch doesn’t scream “fake” or “cheap.” The thin chain strap can be hidden in the bag or can be worn around the shoulder, depending on what look you want.

Splendora
oozes about Kym Gold-Lubell’s new line of “cocktail rings” as the epitome of bohemian chic for fall. The line called BabaKul, which is French for hippie, is hand-made and combines precious metals with oversized healing stones in designs inspired by flower power.

StyleHive
is buzzing about purple and plum as this season’s must-have color for purses and handbags. Plum is versatile — it goes with both cool and warm toned accessories and jewelry and is just dark enough to make it low-maintenance. From chic little clutches to big slouchy totes, plum purses have never been sweeter than this summer.

Bag Spotting: Hunt for the Perfect Totes

Anyone who knows me, knows that I’ve never met a bag I didn’t like.  However, each one quickly gets upgraded by the next find.  Sound familiar?  Well, I’d like to share some of my recent picks with the rest of you bagaholics.

Timbuk2 Cargo Tote Large Lavender OliveBest Big Gym Bag:  Timbuk2 Large Cargo Tote ($70)

I saw someone with this bag in the gym locker room last week and had to have it.  This is a great gym bag because it is really roomy.  I workout in the morning so it’s important that it fits everything I’ll need to get ready for the day.  This holds everything with room to spare!  I’m talking about work clothes, a jacket (because it is always cold in SF), dress shoes and shower shoes, tons of get-ready products, my latest chick-lit and gadgets like an iPod and heart-rate monitor.  Inside it is primarily one large compartment with a water bottle net, large side pocket and an organizer flap.

Sally Spicer ToteBest Stylish Carryall:  Sally Spicer Tote ($63)

I first spotted this bag at a trunk show which kicked off a hunt for my favorite pattern…I utimately chose a beautiful deep purple with dragonflies.  This stylish everyday tote is perfect for anyone who needs to carry things around with them, even groceries.  Also, don’t be afraid of the larger diaper bag version, it doesn’t look like one.  I use it when I’m bringing things into work or spending time anywhere (like the four hours it takes to get a cut and color).  It’s nice to have necessities handy for multi-tasking.

Solo Computer ToteBest Two-in-One Bargain Bag for Business Travel:  Solo Tote ($31-$54)

One of the business consultants at my office has a Solo tote bag; I’ll be purchasing one this week.  Most laptop bags aren’t something you’d carry to dinner, but when traveling you don’t always make it back to the hotel.  So, it’s always nice to have one that can double as a purse.  My favorite features are the splash of color, light weight, and zipper closure.  This certainly tops my pricey heavy leather bag that doesn’t zip, causing items to fall out at airport security or on the plane.  Similar versions of this tote are available in polyvinyl or nylon and you
can get different colors on the inside.

Happy hunting!  I’d love to hear about your favorites.

cargo-bronzer.jpgpacifica-perfume.jpgfamous-daves-self-tanner.jpgtouch-by-tocca.jpgThis week we found wonderful fragrances and makeup for all of you mavens who enjoy getting gorgeous and smelling saucy:

Splendora supports a girl’s quest for the right bronzer and recommends the CARGO Bronzer in Light. There are four color variations available, so if you find your face looks blotchy or pale this product may be for you.

SheFinds spreads sweet nothings about a fragrance called Pacifica Mediterranean Fig Perfume. This scent has a blend of sweet fig, palm, cyclamen and sandalwood starts out sweet and fruity, but melts into a clean, earthy scent. All Pacifica fragrances are made with natural grain alcohol, a less irritating, abrasive and drying form of alcohol that’s safe even for those with sensitive skin or gluten allergies.

StyleBites recaps hype around skincare products such as Famous Dave’s nearly scentless self-tanner and Lamisilk Foot Therapy. Let’s face it ladies, self-tanner that doesn’t leave you smelling like old sunscreen is hard to come by!

Glimpse summarizes skincare made easy! Try the DDF Blemish Foaming Cleanser, Laura Mercier One Step Cleanser, Peter Thomas Roth Instant Mineral SPF 30, and Medi-Matte Oil Control Lotion to help you achieve perfect beauty and keep your skin looking soft and healthy.

The Makeup Girl blogs about Touch by Tocca, a perfume that smells of fruit and flowers in a subtle way. Like the perfume mentioned above, this scent is also inspired by the Mediterranean and smells just like the Italian countryside.

Splendora boasts about David Park’s Park Manhattan Shorts as a current What to Wear item. From the famous to the infamous and the just plain style-savvy crowd, it seems that all the ladies love these chic shorts. While you wouldn’t want to wear them with heels, they do look fabulous with flats.

Engadget buzzes about the iPhone arrival. (Too bad the phone didn’t work on the Today show this morning.) I trust it plays good tunes. If you can’t wait to get one, your wait is almost over. They will be available online starting at 6 p.m. PT today.

GeekSugar recommends the Portable Cuby Speaker for your iPod Shuffle. This was made for second generation Shuffles and connects via the headphone jack or to your computer via a USB cable. Each dock comes with speakers built-in on both sides and can play continuously for five hours with three AA batteries. This lovely music box will be available for purchase this July.

Delight tantalizes taste buds by recommending Weber’s Big Book of Grilling. Perfect for backyard gourmets, this cookbook brings insight from the world’s best-known and most trusted grilling experts. To boot, it’s packed with the tastiest and most reliable recipes ever to hit the grill with hundreds of mouthwatering full-color photos.

Productdose relays information about the unsinkable Molly Brown! …er, I mean The Sharper Image Unsinkable Pool Lounge, which is built for durability and comfort. If you like lounging in the water, this product is a sure bet.

UberReview touts the Portable Pillow with FaceSaver. While it’s not aesthetically pleasing, it can help prevent your face from getting sunburned. If you’re into new and different things, then say goodbye to the old-school beach umbrella.
