Of course, you can always have your black in a summer dress too.

SheFinds alerts readers about grey as a staple color this fall and the best way to wear it. Her tip is to find a key grey piece, be it high-waisted trousers to elongate your legs or a pencil skirt to accentuate your waist, have it tailored to perfection, and voila! You have found a way to incorporate almost all the latest trends using just one key piece. Pair your pencil skirt with a leopard print chiffon neck tie top or with a metallic mini jacket and black Mary Janes.

Jewelry Blogger Sandy Graham raves about turquoise as a fall jewelry trend and showcases her latest find — a vintage turquoise and coral beaded Native American cuff. Turquoise is always present and can be worn with jeans and a white cuffed shirt, a pale gray dress, a multi color long print caftan and many other things.

The Budget Fashionista recommends the Old Navy Baby Doll coat as a “What to buy” item for the fall. You can find it in green or black for more versatility.

Also, Regina Lewis touted comparison shopping sites on the Today Show. She said that price comparison sites give you a great initial snapshot of what the product is currently going for online. And she cites a new five-year forecast from Forrester Research that indicates people who are the biggest online spenders are also the most likely to comparison shop.

The Wall Street Journal reporter Christina Binkley pens about the power of the stiletto. She says that if you look under many a powerful woman’s desk you’ll find a serious pair of heels…and she’s right. Power heel shoe designer Stuart Weitzman states “High heels indicate power.” Nobody ever said it would be easy – or comfortable – to be powerful and stylish, but we all know what a well-placed heel is capable of.

Splendora raves about Steve Madden Cabanna as the new official office shoes. These wood-heeled shoes give you a lot of extra inches plus the interior padding makes them relatively comfortable.

SheFinds shares how to sizzle in fabulous new shoes from Payless. Designer Lela Rose has signed up to design for Payless, following a trend started by Abaete, whose Fall 2007 line is already available. Two fabulous, guilt-free finds; The Flavin Platform, an adorable metallic sandal, and the Debra Wedge, a performance shoe that’s all business and will look great with the bold lines of fall suits.

Daily Candy calls out to shake what yo mamma gave you — especially when wearing shorty shorts and bubble skirts from Smart Fitzjerell. The debut collection also offers smart, ladylike day dresses that you can work well into the night. The latest and greatest preppy meets edgy.

Glam.com raves about New Line Cinema’s exclusive charity auction on eBay featuring costumes and props from the hit new movie, Hairspray. In addition to acquiring a snazzy ensemble and piece of movie history, you’ll be helping out a couple of worthy charities: City Meals on Wheels and the Harry Holmberg Memorial Fund. Hairspray dances its way into theaters today!

Splendora time-warps back to the good ol’ days of playing Pong on Atari and reminisces of how the times have changed. The Atari 800 in store demo will bring back old school memories of how cool pixilated video games and floppy disks used to be.

Ahh…the first full week of June, the gate way of summer. It’s the season of poolside vacations, weekend barbeques, backyard badminton and all sorts of other sunny activities. Instead of retiring indoors when you tire of the sun, don a cover up. To keep the look fashionable instead of frumpy, seek out one with a dash of glamour. When you’re shopping, ask yourself “Will this look good with large sunglasses and a fruity drink with an umbrella in it?” If the answer is yes, by all means buy it.

Pull Over

Legend has it that Jackie O was once turned away from the Four Seasons because their dress code didn’t allow women to wear trousers in the dining room. She removed her pants in the ladies room and then she and her companions enjoyed a lovely lunch- with Mrs. Onassis wearing just her tunic. You can skirt a policy or take a break from the sun in a lightweight, embellished tunic.

Tied On

Wear it as a skirt, a dress or a shawl. Ball it up if you need a pillow or use it as a blanket and have a picnic. You could probably do all sorts of first aid things with it if necessary, but that’s beyond my expertise. What I do know is that there are few fashion items more versatile than a pareo and the brighter the better when you’re choosing a pattern.

Brimming

Peeling sunburns get gunky under moisturizers and make up. Plus the possibility of wrinkles, sun spots and skin cancer. Better to avoid it all together with a sensational hat. The Skin Cancer Foundation recommends a minimum of a 3 inch brim. Use the width of your shoulders as your maximum brim guide.

Lucite is showing up everywhere this season, but there is a bit of confusion about what it actually is. So here’s the skinny: it’s plastic. DuPont invented Lucite in 1931 and started manufacturing everything from airplane windshields to jewelry with it. The plastic is still used for a million things, including accessories. The pieces out right now seem both modern and vintage, and are easy to work into your wardrobe.

Necklace

Load up Lucite necklaces and wear them with everything from jeans and t-shirts to day dresses at summer weddings. Mix shapes and sizes to capture the eclectic vibe of spring fashion.

Heels

It may not always feels like you’re walking on air, but in Lucite heels it will at least look like you are. Combine the Lucite trend with the wedge heel trend to appear twice as stylish with half the purchases.

Purse

My problem with most plastic purses is that everyone can see what’s in your bag. If you choose a printed one, your contents are concealed, but you still get the look of the season.
